BP4HS is an extension of the Body Project, a cognitive-dissonance-based body acceptance program. The Body Project was designed to help adolescent girls and young women resist sociocultural pressures to conform to the appearance-ideal. 

BODY PROJECT COLLABORATIVE

PAST RESEARCH

The Body Project began over a decade ago by Dr. Carolyn Becker and Dr. Eric Stice to bridge a gap in the existing eating disorder prevention research. The Body Project and associated extensions (The Sorority BP, Female Athlete BP, & Body Project 4 All) have helped females around the world increase their body acceptance and decrease their risk for eating disorders in the future. 

HISTORY

The Body Project is an evidence-based body acceptance and positive body image program. The program has been shown to be effective in decreasing eating disorder risk factors in multiple populations and across sites by Dr. Eric Stice and colleagues (Stice et al., 2008; 2009;
